Msenwa Foundation Newsletter -April 2020 - Uvira Flooding Update

Uvira Flooding:  A message of hope from Daniel Alooci Rukukuye,
Coordinator of Congo for Christ Centre (our partner in DR Congo).

The families in Uvira that received the emergency relief food and other supplies said: “words cannot full expressed the gratitude of the families that we served today. We want to send you the words from 1Cor 15:58- “My dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

The Msenwa Foundation thanks you for your compassion and generosity for emergency flood relief in Uvira, DR Congo. In just over a week, together you raised $3,010 of the $5,000 goal. The Congo for Christ Centre, our partner organization in DR Congo, has already been able to distribute some of much needed emergency food and supplies to 100 families in their neighbourhood. Each family received several kilograms of beans, rice, a wash basin and cleaning supplies. We are so grateful for your support, making it possible for the Msenwa Foundation to provide this support to families in desperate need.

Heavy rains continue to fall in Uvira, causing more flooding and damage. Official sources now report more than 4,000 families in Uvira have lost their homes, and about 100 people have died due to the flooding. Thousands of families are sleeping in schools and churches, with no mattresses, bedding or personal items.  We deeply appreciate your fervent prayers for the rains to stop and for provision for the thousands of women, men and children left homeless by this flooding.

The needs are still overwhelming and we want to reach more families and children by providing them with staple foods, mosquito nets, cleaning supplies and other much cooking items. We kindly ask that you consider giving to these relief efforts. You can do so by clicking on the donate button above or below.

May God bless you abundantly. If you have specific prayer requests, please do share them with the Msenwa Foundation. The Board of Directors and CCC in Congo with be glad to pray along with you.

The Msenwa foundation appreciates your generous support. Please consider making a financial gift of any kind (remember all donations both large and small make a big difference.)
